WHAT’S GETS YOU MOVIN’: STYLE DIARY (week 7)

I took a little break on posting my Fall Style Diary, but I never stopped shooting! Over the next couple weeks, as the chill starts to set in, I’ll show you how I warmed things up, some of the time, this Fall. Also I’m looking forward to expanding Style Diary, and What Gets You Movin’, in general. 2013 is going to be a good one!

This particular week in November there was no mood, it was rather random actually, but at least the weather was decent, hence me showing my gams! I remember this week though, it was close to midterms, as always I barely slept, and on Tuesday I found out I was showing in a group show that Friday. By the end of last week, I decided I need to add more color in my wardrobe. I can’t say a completely succeeded in that, but hey it was an attempt. Right now black is just on my mind, although I am in search of a nice brown leather jacket…but that’s not exactly color in my wardrobe is it? lol

This was another week of playing catch up and no sleep, I figure if I go 2 more weeks hard, I should catch up on work things…so bare with me as I look exhausted in these and upcoming pics. Really this week was about details, just to add a little something to an outfit, and anything that is quick an easy.

WHAT GETS YOU MOVIN’: style diary

In Week 2 for my Fall Style Diary, comfort was key! I needed things that were quick and easy, plus I was just kind of lazy. Many people confuse comfortable clothing with sloppy clothing, and that doesn’t have to be the case. A dress is heck a lot easier for me to put on than a pair jeans, and I instantly look i put in some effort when i really didn’t! Along with comfort, this week was about a statement piece, which was my new studded leather jacket. I love it! It dresses anything up. The other key piece are my Jeffery Campbell Brit Wrap Strap Boots. I’ve been eyeing strap boots for minute, and these did exactly what i wanted; they’re a great pair of moto boots to go with my moto jacket.

WHAT GETS YOU MOVIN’: style diary

As I said last week, my Style Diary is back! The fall season has inspired me to go back to my Style Diary that has been off and on since 2010. As I’ve always said, i don’t consider myself a fashionista, or even a style guru, I’m not even a shopaholic; I just enjoy the process of making outfits and how a clothing and fit can affect your mood and shape.

For those who are new, I really don’t have a particular style, I dress by mood, and I like what I like. I guess an ongoing theme within my closet is vintage inspired, rock star feel, and classic silhouettes…you can tell me if you agree.

WHAT GETS YOU MOVIN’: MDMA

If you follow me on twitter (JaiNima), you may remember earlier this week I instagramed and tweeted a picture of me and the artist, Jamel Castro, beat after wrapping up his video shoot. I shot the majority of the video, serving as Director of Photography for his promo video. It’s was my 1st stint at the music video thing, and although it was kind of stressful because Jamel Castro is a film director in his own right, it was lots of fun and I look forward to doing more.

Check out the promo video from Castro’s upcoming project MDMA, coming out November 1st.

Hey Guys!

Its been a minute, and I promise to do better! 🙂

Fall is my favorite season to dress, so I decided to keep a Style Diary again, starting October 1st. Right after I decided to do this, Essence Magazine’s, Essence.com, posted a Street Style piece that I was featured in….making me feel like starting up Style Diary was a good idea.

Street Style is a 3-part online series featuring Fashion Blogger Gabi Fresh ambushing fashionable folks right before New York’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
