Blast from the past! I grew up watching a lot these athletes from Howard Shatz’s 2002 book, Athlete.
I thought this was a great post especially since in our society we are obsessed with the perfect body. Yet theses athletes, Continue reading

WHAT GETS YOU MOVIN’: Jason Mickle Photography
30 JanHey Guys! Back in late Spring of 2012 I assisted fashion photographer, Jason Mickle, on a fashion story that recently appeared in West East Magazine. The story is loosely based around the crucifixion of Christ, and paintings depicting that story. For some reason it’s called Step Into Wonder (I’m not sure why) but the spread came out beautifully. I always learn so much when I work with Jason!
Here are a couple of pictures from the shoot, to see all of them you can visit here.
Photographer: Jason Mickle
Photo Assistant: Jai Nima Idowu
Stylist: Martin Waitt
Hair Stylist: Stanley DeVaughn
Make-Up Artist: Lauren Whitworth
WHAT GETS YOU MOVIN’: Jado Images
31 Dec
Wow 2012 is coming to an end! I have to admit it wasn’t a particularly great year for me, so much change and not enough sleep. There were a couple highlights though, one of them being, reaching my goal of getting a lot more photography work; this will transition into the launch of JADO Studios in 2013, but more of that come.
I wanted to leave you all with an excerpt from a feature that the website template site Wix.com did on me. They featured a couple of their users early this year, to discuss their work and how and why they use Wix. I’m not sure what ever happened with the featured user project, but here’s a sneak peek in what I had to say about JADO Images, marketing, and dating in January or February of 2012.
Happy New Year and look out for an updated JADO Images site in 2013!
WHAT GETS YOU MOVIN’: Pledge Allegiance
4 Oct
Recently I’ve had this burning desire to start shooting music videos, its something I wanted to do as a teenager, but the desire eventually went away. So it was perfect timing that one of my favorite photographers, Sarah McColgan recently shot a music video. The visuals are quite stunning, and it has inspired me to go out there and start shooting.
For me, the visuals are how I’d anticipate a photographer to shoot a video, more than how a DP trained in film would, and I think that’s why I like it. There are (to me) just a differences as to how someone who is used to shooting stills may frame and approach it; I think that really works in shorter formats, like a music video. Anyway, check out the video, the song ain’t too shabby either, it’s Pledge Allegiance by Ro James.
WHAT GETS YOU MOVIN: The Dig’s ‘Midnight Flowers’
22 Jun
After my good friends, The Dig (thedigmusic.com), showed me the cover of their then, upcoming new album, Midnight Flowers, I had an idea of them at night, in the forest, with a car light. That idea and 2 cold spring nights turned into the above promotional picture for my talented friends. Continue reading
